Assuming Creativity is making aesthetically appealing drawing and working towards it as a target limits what one can learn from the process and it could even take away the fun from it. Creativity is not making a "pretty drawing". Creativity lies in the journey. The focus should be on the process of discovery because it is the interest it creates in the individual that will inspire him/her to want to do it again and expand their world. What transpires as the end result of the journey is only a happenstance.
Purpose
My aim and objective is to inculcate Creative Thinking through my classes. Paints, brushes, paper, glue etc. are all tools that will enable the process. Each class spans over several weeks. I design a detailed activity plan for the entirety of all my courses. Participants will work with a variety of paper, pens, pencils, crayons, pastels, watercolor, acrylic, clay, play doh, chalk, charcoal, glue, legos, scrap, discarded reusable material and so much more.
What will you do ?
Creativity can become your second nature but it requires practice and this is where it can start.
